FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 21, 2025
Despite turbulence and shrinkage in the mainstream movie sector, independent French Noir film project The Truffaut Affair is moving on to its next phase of post-production.
According to The Truffaut Affair Director Matthew Ben Miller, his team has been hard at work at editing, planning marketing strategies, and even plotting a festival run.
“We experienced a temporary setback as we searched to secure finishing funds, but we now have them,” Miller said. “And reshoots will be underway by the end of this summer.”
Shot around the Los Angeles area, the French New Wave inspired independent film The Truffaut Affair is best described as The Truman Show meets The Maltese Falcon for a new generation.
“Our marketing plans include a film festival run, as well as a theatrical release,” said Miller.
The Truffaut Affair is helmed by Miller’s company Ben Aliza Productions and Lance B. Witmer’s Valor Films.
The film is co-produced by Trevor Breithaupt.
“The finished film will be completed by the end of 2025,” Miller said. “We’re so excited to share the film and can’t wait to see everyone at the premiere.”
